Located in the state of Minas Gerais, the region is considered the largest coffee-producing region in Brazil, where important coffee cities like Tr\u00eas Pontas, Guaxup\u00e9, and Varginha can be found, with Varginha being the main coffee trading market in the country, where the main Arabica coffee exporters and brokers are concentrated.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Comprised of 146 municipalities, the South of Minas region began to establish itself in the mid-19th century with the arrival of immigrants, primarily Italians and Syrians and Lebanese. At this time, Arabica coffee plantations became part of the local landscape. Thanks to the high altitudes and mild climate, directly influenced by the Serra da Mantiqueira, coffee plantations gained strength and today the South of Minas is a reference in the production of high-quality coffee.   <\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"350\" src=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticacoffee.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_9557-scaled-e1647375188746-1024x350.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticacoffee.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_9557-scaled-e1647375188746-980x335.jpg 980w, https:\/\/www.atlanticacoffee.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_9557-scaled-e1647375188746-480x164.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>Craft production is also a determining factor in the region\u2019s success. Most of the producers who dedicate themselves to coffee cultivation in this part of Brazil are small and medium-sized producers who value and continuously monitor all processes involved in coffee farming. All of this tradition and care for the produced grains has earned the Mantiqueira de Minas Denomination of Origin seal for 25 municipalities that make up the Mantiqueira area in the South of Minas.   <\/p>\n\n<p>By combining its mild climate, where average temperatures vary between 18 to 20 degrees, altitudes that reach 1,400 meters, production with respect for nature, and numerous investments in research, the region is capable of producing exceptional coffee with incomparable nuances, which have already conquered the world with its famous fine cups, good cups, and also in various national and international quality competitions. <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>World\u2019s main coffee-producing region<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n<p>The state of Minas Gerais is Brazil\u2019s largest producer and the world leader in coffee exports. Much of this recognition is due to the South of Minas region, which currently concentrates the largest number of coffee plants per square meter, with over 400,000 hectares in production.  <\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, the region\u2019s tradition and international reputation regarding the production of fine coffees with a highly differentiated sensory profile guarantee the prominence that these grains deserve. Coffees from the South of Minas present a combination of a unique <em>terroir<\/em> and local know-how that seeks excellence continuously.  <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.atlanticacoffee.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Bem-Vindo-Atlantica-Coffee-1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-489\" width=\"592\" height=\"394\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n<p>Atlantica Coffee has been present in the South of Minas region for over 20 years, learning from its history in coffee farming, as well as participating and contributing to its producers\u2019 evolution. We export the famous fine cups and good cups from the South of Minas to more than 40 countries.
